The Lusofonia Culture and Citizenship Association announces that registration is open for the Portuguese Language Initiation Course for Adult Migrants.

The training begins on February 13th and will take place every Monday and Friday until the end of April, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm, at the Association’s headquarters located at Rua Varela Silva n.º 13, store B.

To participate, it is necessary to pre-register through the email address tecmil.alcc@gmail.com, presenting a title of residence or proving that you are already in the process of regularization.

This course is carried out within the framework of the MIL Project – Migration, Integration and Portuguese Language, financed by the Fund for Asylum, Migration and Integration (FAMI), through the ACM, as the Delegated Authority.

The Lusofonia Culture and Citizenship Association invites all adult migrants interested to register for this course, which aims to help migrants adapt and integrate into Portuguese society by improving their knowledge of the Portuguese language.

Speaking Portuguese can be beneficial for migrants in several ways. One of the main benefits is the ability to communicate effectively with the local population and navigate daily life. This can include things like understanding instructions at work, communicating with healthcare providers, and participating in community activities. Additionally, speaking Portuguese can help migrants improve their chances of finding employment and integrating into the local community.

Furthermore, speaking the language of the host country can be a way for migrants to show their willingness to integrate, which can lead to a more positive perception from the locals and facilitate their integration process.

Finally, having a good command of the language also helps them to access information and services, such as schooling, legal assistance, and other public services.(X)
